Scope of Works:
In order to accommodate vessels up to 35,000 DWT, “Ciment de Sibline” sal has required for its new berthing facilities at the Port of Jieh an operational basin with -13m water depth. To achieve this goal, the Client needed to clear in record time the basin from a variety of material including sand, quarry run, rocks and other miscellaneous debris and to dispose the suitable material 3 km offshore and the unsuitable material on land.The JV was awarded the contract because of its ability to mobilize immediately the right marine equipments for the job. By using its bucket dredger “Jeita”, its crane barge “Hydromar 1”equipped with a grab/clamshell and its dredge pump, the JV succeeded, in a record time of 6 weeks, to clear up the miscellaneous material in the basin allowing the entry of the scheduled vessel without delay to the satisfaction of the Client.
